Welcome and Approvals
Ms. Kelly opened the meeting for discussion at 3:10 p.m. and welcomed attendees. This meeting is for discussion purposes only. No formal Library Board Committee action will be taken.

Documents distributed for discussion
Ms Friedrich distributed a Hennepin County Library Collection Overview document and Collections: Minneapolis Central Library and Hennepin County Library document.

How does the library's collection advance the library's mission to "nourish minds, transform lives, and build community together"-now and into the future?

A total of 6 people participated. Working together for 1 ½ hours, the group developed the following response:

The collection supports the library's mission because it:

• Encourages well-being and life/work balance
• Supports life long learning through access to resources
• Expands our horizons through new experiences
• Cultivates community through diverse viewpoints
• Prepares citizens for the future
• Provides an archive and cornerstone of our culture and heritage.

Each bullet point above was derived from the individual ideas created by each participant and clustered together by the group.
