Year in review
2011 was packed with activities that built community, nourished the mind and transformed lives. With the opening of Northeast and Nokomis libraries, all 41 libraries in the system are in operation. Join us online or at the library in 2012! |
 |
Changes to checkout and reserve limits Effective Jan. 1, 2012, there will be a limit to the number of items you may check out and request at any given time. Check out of downloadable materials, such as eBooks, will be available to Hennepin County residents only, and requests and check outs of eBooks will be limited to 15 per patron. By reducing loan times and amounts, items in the Library collection can circulate more quickly, allowing the Library to maintain availability of items while reducing its collections budget by $2 million. What are you reading? HCL has compiled the top 25 titles checked out for adults, teens and kids January-October 2011. See how many you´ve read or get some ideas for your next new read. Also, share your review of great books with other readers on bookspace.org. |

RFID transforming the way we do business
HCL is in the process of tagging our entire circulating collection. The use of radio frequency identification tags means the Library can pull requests quicker so you can get your requests sooner. Tagging an additional 4.2 million items should be completed in 2012.

Age well and live smart
